The upward momentum of the domestic new car market is accelerating. During May 2025, 22,407 vehicles were sold, representing a notable increase of 40.31% compared to sales in May 2024 (15,970 units sold), according to the latest statistics from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).

The sales growth concerns both passenger vehicles (PV) and light commercial vehicles (LCV). For the former, which represent the bulk of the market, sales recorded an increase of 37.49% with 19,999 units sold during May 2025. For LCVs, the sales increase is even more spectacular, with 2,408 units sold in May 2025 compared to 1,424 units in May 2024, an improvement of 69.10%.

This performance brings the cumulative new car sales since the beginning of the year to 88,728 units sold, up 36.68% compared to the same period in 2024 (64,918 units). The PV segment shows growth of 34.04%, with 78,000 units sold, while the LCV segment grows by 59.52%, to 10,728 units.

These figures reflect the renewed strength of Moroccan demand for new vehicles, in a more favorable economic context, whether for individuals or businesses. The launch of new models, the renewal of the offer, as well as the growing penetration of new brands, notably Chinese, also contribute to driving the new car market upwards. Especially since stock availability problems have considerably diminished.
