As part of the preparations for the upcoming elections of members of the House of Representatives, scheduled for 23 September 2026, a meeting was held on Friday in Rabat, attended by officials from public media outlets, focusing on media support for these electoral deadlines, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the measures to be taken by public media to encourage citizens—particularly young people—to register on the general electoral lists and to mobilise them for strong participation in the voting process.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting an appropriate awareness-raising discourse, supported by open and constructive debate, and of enhancing professionalism, innovation and creativity in the content of programmes produced by public media.

The meeting also highlighted the need to involve political parties in communication efforts related to the preparation of the upcoming legislative elections through television and radio programmes produced by public media, enabling political organisations to contribute to mobilising citizens and persuading them to engage in the national electoral process.

The aim is to address the challenge of achieving a satisfactory voter turnout in the upcoming election.
