Preparations for CAN 25: More than 120 projects are currently underway in the six cities
A follow-up meeting was held at the Ministry of the Interior. It was dedicated to evaluating the progress of work related to the construction and rehabilitation of stadiums in the six host cities of this continental event, as well as reviewing the complementary urban upgrading programs associated with them.

The pace of work launched in the cities that will host the next Africa Cup of Nations respects the established schedules. All arrangements have been made to ensure the completion of the work within the set deadlines. This was affirmed at the end of a meeting held on Thursday, April 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior, as part of monitoring the preparations led by Morocco for organizing the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for December 2025.
During this meeting, a statement from the Ministry of the Interior indicated that, alongside the stadium works, the six concerned cities have launched complementary programs aimed at improving urban mobility, rehabilitating urban infrastructure, redeveloping the surroundings of the stadiums and sites dedicated to welcoming visitors, as well as organizing animation activities to guarantee the best conditions for hosting delegations and supporters.
In this context, it was mentioned that more than 120 projects are currently underway in the six cities, with all necessary measures taken to finalize these projects before next December.
The organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the Kingdom’s international influence. It also provides a chance to highlight the economic, cultural, and tourist opportunities abundant in Morocco, while stimulating the local economy.
The meeting, the statement emphasized, aims to assess the progress of work related to the construction and rehabilitation of stadiums in the six host cities of this continental event (Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, Marrakech, and Tetouan), as well as to examine the complementary urban upgrading programs associated with them.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the governors and presidents of the regional councils of Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Fez-Meknes, Marrakech-Safi, and Souss-Massa, the presidents of the communal councils of Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Fez, Marrakech, and Agadir, as well as the general directors of the ANRT, ONCF, ONDA, ADM, Sonarges, and the Director General of the National Agency for Public Equipment.
