Launch of the official “Rabat Patrimoine” audio-guided tour application

Initiated by the Société de développement régional Rabat Région Patrimoine historique (RRPH), this digital innovation offers residents, visitors, and culture enthusiasts an immersive and interactive experience centered on the eight components inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, along with their buffer zones.

The application provides a rich and adaptable itinerary offering for all audiences. Available in four languages (Arabic, French, English, and Spanish), it allows users to freely explore the capital’s iconic sites through several tours.

The World Heritage Tour, which enables exploration of each component of the UNESCO-inscribed site and its buffer zone. Another general tour, providing an overview of Rabat’s heritage. And then, four thematic tours: The Grand Tour, linking the main iconic sites; the museum tour; the natural heritage discovery tour, highlighting gardens, parks, and landscapes; and the architectural and urban tour, dedicated to the capital’s major buildings.

Through narrative audio guides, interactive maps, geolocated tours, and a variety of multimedia content, the application reveals the history, architecture, and cultural richness of Rabat. Accessible for free on the web, Android, and iOS, it combines heritage, technology, and accessibility to offer a unique visiting experience.

This project fully aligns with the vision championed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aiming to make Rabat a radiant cultural capital, open to the world and deeply committed to transmitting its historical heritage shared with humanity.
