Signed by the Delegate Minister to the Head of Government, in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, in charge of Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, this agreement focuses on two main axes: the digitalization of domestic commerce and the support of digital export projects.

In detail, the first axis involves the generalization of digital tools among traders, the implementation of training, awareness, and support programs, as well as support for the Moroccan Retail Tech Builder (MRTB) platform, dedicated to commercial innovation.

It also includes the promotion of national e-commerce and the strengthening of synergy between scientific research and innovation, notably through the «JAZARI Institute» initiative, led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

The second part concerns digital exports through the development of three platforms: «One Shop Store Export », offering personalized support to exporters, «Trade.ma», dedicated to promoting the national exportable offer, and «Tijaria », an interactive platform integrating artificial intelligence to inform economic operators about international opportunities and procedures.

On this occasion, Ms. El Fallah Seghrouchni stated to the press that this agreement reflects the common will of the two departments to make digital technology a strategic lever for the development of commerce, particularly in its international dimension.

In this context, she highlighted the structuring role of digital tools and artificial intelligence, now considered essential for economic development and the competitiveness of the Kingdom.

The minister also recalled the signing, yesterday, of an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), concerning the launch of a digital course on sustainable development and the establishment in Morocco of a center of excellence in artificial intelligence and data science, aimed at positioning the Kingdom as a regional hub serving Arab and African countries.

For his part, Mr. Hejira indicated that the process of digitalizing commerce is experiencing a significant acceleration, reflecting the government’s commitment to a structural transformation of a sector that mobilizes more than 1.6 million people nationally.

He specified that particular efforts are being made to support small operators in their digital transition, through adapted technological solutions and targeted support mechanisms.

Regarding foreign trade, he emphasized the importance of the three electronic platforms developed in this context, namely «One Shop Store Export»,  «Trade.ma », and « Tijaria », which aim to boost commercial exchanges and strengthen the attractiveness of the Moroccan offer on international markets.

The governance of this agreement will be ensured by a strategic steering committee and a monthly monitoring committee, with the aim of guaranteeing an effective and harmonized implementation of the commitments made.
