World Cup 2030: More than 1.7 Billion MAD to strengthen the connection to the Fez Stadium.

A budget of 1.78 billion dirhams (MAD) will be mobilized to upgrade the various roads serving the sports complex of Fez, in anticipation of the organization of the World Cup in 2030.

A partnership agreement was approved, in this context, during the ordinary session of March of the Regional Council of Fez-Meknes held last Monday in Moulay Yacoub, and which was devoted to the adoption of a series of partnership agreements affecting various sectors.

This agreement, which is part of the organization of the 2030 World Cup, aims to rehabilitate and develop roads to improve the quality of connection of the sports complex of Fez and thus strengthen road safety conditions.

These projects are part of the regional development program (PDR) 2022-2027, with a total investment of 29.5 billion MAD.

The council will provide 38 million MAD while the rest (1.744 billion MAD) will be mobilized by the Ministries of Economy and Finance and Equipment and Water as well as the wilaya of the Fez-Meknes region.

As part of strengthening the road infrastructure of the region, the council adopted another partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the road network in the various prefectures and provinces of the region with a total investment estimated at more than one billion MAD.

This amount will be divided equally between the regional council (508 MAD) and its partners (508 MAD). This agreement is part of the implementation of several projects that are part of the regional development program, which is being implemented.

According to council data, the road network in the Fez-Meknes region totals a length of 7625 km, or 18.5% of the national road network. The national roads in the region extend over a length of 918 km and the regional axes over 1695 km. The provincial network totals 5012 km.
