According to the analysis of the figures reported by the Ecofin news agency, citing Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, it emerges that Morocco, by the end of 2024, claims the status of the top tourist destination at the continental level.

Up to this point, Egypt, which was the leading tourist destination in Africa, recorded nearly 15.7 million tourists by the end of 2024. At the same time, based on official figures as of the end of November 2024, the Kingdom of Morocco welcomed nearly 15.9 million tourists, placing Morocco ahead of Egypt in terms of foreign visitors received.

This recognition comes as Morocco’s tourism performance in December, a peak season, is expected to be strong. Estimates suggest that Morocco could reach around 16 million tourists by the end of 2024.
