In order to ensure their anchoring in various professional environments, some political formations opt for the creation of parallel organizations, while others rely more on a “union extension” in the health sector. An overview.

For years, the Progress and Socialism party could count on a health sector, notably in the most dynamic public sphere.

A sector where the heirs of Ali Yata relied on a significant presence, which carried weight, where one found doctors, professors, nurses, but also health administrators.

There was a time, in fact, when this sector was part of all debates, especially since it considered itself “a force of proposal” that carried the vision of the militants of the Book formation regarding the reform of the health sector, indeed, notably under the leadership of Professor El Houssine El Ouardi who, long before becoming minister, had decided to roll up his sleeves as the dynamo of his party’s health sector, it is recalled with regret.

All the more so since just after, the health sector lost ground and the momentum that El Ouardi had given it faded away!

Mohamed Zkiri – PJD

Gaza closer than taza

The Justice and Development party indeed has a parallel organization in the health sector. Notably through the Association of Doctors, whose standard-bearer is Mohamed Zkiri.

Similarly, back when the Lamp party claimed a rather massive presence on the union scene, which was combined with its “government leadership” before the 2021 legislative elections, its union arm, UNTM, relied heavily on the health sector where it contested, through its National Federation of the Health Sector, the spotlight with other forces present.

Except that since then, the union and its branches have followed the fate of their mother formation. Moreover, since the return to power of the former-new secretary general, there has been a total alignment with the positions of the general secretariat with a discourse where one no longer hears about systematic opposition to all government initiatives concerning the health sector, but also a quite marked interest in certain positions.

 Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah – PAM

Programmed Comeback

In 2014, the Authenticity and Modernity Party, in a surge to position itself in the different segments of society, decided to claim a branch in the health sector.

At the time, it was the former secretary general and former Minister of Health, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, accompanied by some influential members of the BP, who was at the forefront to mobilize around the project of a parallel organization called the “Doctors’ Forum.”

The idea was to have a structure capable of developing what was to be the PAM’s vision on the health sector. Except that, during its existence, this Forum experienced a twist when its first leader, Mohammed Arioua, stepped down in 2021.

Since then, it was on standby until the day after the 5th congress. Indeed, the PAM leadership committed to reviving all the party’s parallel organizations, including that of health. Moreover, in recent days, several regional branches have been working on reorganizing the territorial extensions of the former Forum on new bases.

Also, April was marked by a meeting between the collegiate leadership and a delegation of the said Forum. The objective is, according to PAM sources, to strengthen the presence of Health competencies within the party’s structures.
