Sahara: Paraguay Recognizes Morocco’s Sovereignty and Plans to Open a Consulate in the Southern Provinces
Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Darío Ramírez Lezcano announced the upcoming visit to the Kingdom by Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios.
Paraguay recognizes Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and plans to open a consulate in the Kingdom’s Southern Provinces, announced Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Darío Ramírez Lezcano on Monday in New York.
“We support Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, and we are considering the imminent opening of a Paraguayan consulate in this region,” Mr. Ramírez Lezcano told the press following a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
Mr. Ramírez Lezcano also announced the upcoming visit to the Kingdom by Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios.
The head of Paraguayan diplomacy further stated that he intends to visit Morocco before the end of the year.
The meeting between Mr. Bourita and his Paraguayan counterpart, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, also provided an opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
