Guelmim Regional Hospital Expansion: Electrical Works Awarded for MAD 67 Million
The contract covers high- and low-voltage electrical works. These include, in particular, power intake and transformer substations, electrical switchboards, medium- and low-voltage cabling, lighting, IT and telephone networks, as well as security systems.
A new milestone has been reached in the expansion project of the Guelmim Regional Hospital Center. The National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP), through its Southern Regional Directorate, has awarded the electrical works contract to Protelec for 67 million dirhams (MAD).
Specializing in electrical protection, electronics, and security systems, the company outperformed three competitors—including the Aleq–Jet Contractors consortium (MAD 81 million) and Butec Energies & Services (MAD 77.7 million)—thanks to the strength of its technical and financial proposals.
Already involved in the technical management of the Grand Stade de Tanger, Protelec will be responsible for both high- and low-voltage electrical works. These notably include power intake and transformer substations, electrical switchboards, medium- and low-voltage cabling, lighting, IT and telephone networks, as well as security systems (CCTV, access control, fire detection), centralized technical management (BMS), IPTV, and the nurse call system.
Strengthening healthcare provision in the region
The works are scheduled to take one year, starting from the service order authorizing the commencement of works. This timeframe includes preparation, installation, and site demobilization.
By way of reminder, on 29 September ANEP selected the Marrakech-based company Ait Haj My Abdelghni (AHMA) for the structural works and waterproofing package, for an amount of MAD 157 million. The Guelmim Regional Hospital Center, whose construction required a budget of MAD 275 million, is being built on a 10-hectare site. With a capacity of 250 beds and housing several medical and surgical departments, the facility aims to strengthen healthcare services in the region.
