The Fez-Meknes Regional Council approved a partnership agreement on Monday for creating a health sciences hub with a total investment of over 1.2 billion DH.

This initiative, a partnership between the regional council and the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF), aims to strengthen hospital infrastructure in the region by creating a level 3 healthcare offer and improving higher education and training in the field.
The total investment will be divided between the regional council with 150 MDH and partners with 956.45 MDH.
In a statement to MAP, the President of the Fez-Meknes Region, Abdelouahed El Ansari, emphasized that creating a second university hospital in the region is an « exceptional » initiative that will distinguish Fez-Meknes from other regions, adding that it will significantly enhance the regional healthcare offer.
The upcoming health sciences hub is an important project that will bring real added value to the region through diversifying healthcare and university education offerings, he said.
The partnership agreement for this project was adopted during this ordinary session attended by, among others, the Wali of the Fez-Meknes Region, Governor of the Fez Prefecture, Mouaad Jamai, and the Governor of the Moulay Yacoub Province, Mohamed Samir El Khamlichi.
