Education: Launch of the “From Child to Child” initiative against school dropout
The Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, launched in Taroudant the mobilisation initiative “From Child to Child”, a national programme aimed at identifying and reintegrating children who have dropped out of school or who are not enrolled for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, on Tuesday officially launched the mobilisation initiative “From Child to Child” to combat school dropout, at the Second Chance Professional Qualification Centre – New Generation in Taroudant.
Organised under the slogan “Whatever the circumstances, I will not give up on my studies,” this initiative aims to identify out-of-school or non-enrolled children and adolescents who are outside the education system during the 2025–2026 academic year.
On this occasion, the Director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training for the Souss‑Massa region, Idriss Ouahi, delivered a presentation on the situation of school dropout in the region, highlighting the distribution of the phenomenon and the pedagogical measures adopted to address it, particularly in terms of remedial schooling.
For his part, the Provincial Director of the Ministry in Taroudant, Nabil Majdi, reviewed the remedial schooling programme in the province, supported by figures and indicators relating to the “Second Chance” programmes in their two components (basic and new generation), the mechanisms for pedagogical support, and the mobilisation caravan supervised by the provincial directorate.
Subsequently, the minister and the accompanying delegation conducted a field visit to the various facilities of the centre, where they were briefed on workshops dedicated to vocational qualification and initiation into professional and artisanal skills, contributing to equipping beneficiaries with practical competencies that promote their social and professional integration.
The organisation of this initiative forms part of national efforts to combat school dropout and strengthen equity and equal opportunities, thereby guaranteeing the right to education for all children, in line with the objectives of the 2022–2026 roadmap for a quality public school.
On the sidelines of the launch of this initiative, the minister also carried out a field visit to the pioneer school Amina Bent Wahb, where he reviewed the progress of the educational process and programmes aimed at improving the quality of learning.
He also visited Mohammed V Upper Secondary School, where he observed the progress of rehabilitation and extension works being carried out as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and schooling conditions.
