A Moroccan construction group will build a public university in Ghana
This project is part of a program to build two public universities in Ghana to address skill shortages in the regions hosting these infrastructures.
A Moroccan company will soon build a public university in Ghana. It is the BTP Construction Management Services (CMS) group, which signed, on July 15, a memorandum of understanding with Ghana’s Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, who announced it on his Facebook page.
“In line with the government’s project to create two public universities in Jasikan and Kintampo, I have signed two separate memorandums of understanding with Gharably Integrated Engineering Company (GEICO) and CMS Group, respectively from Egypt and Morocco,” he stated.
According to the same source, these two companies “have expressed their willingness to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to achieve this goal,” specifying that “these universities will be a decisive step towards inclusive national development and will help address skill shortages in their respective regions.”
Details on the financing of these two universities as well as the construction schedule have not been disclosed.
