Celebrating Cinema: Highlights of the 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025

The 78th Festival de Cannes, set to take place from May 13 to May 24, 2025, has finalized its program, featuring a total of 21 films competing for the prestigious Palme d’or. Notable entries include “Die, My Love” directed by Lynne Ramsay, which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, marking Ramsay as the seventh female director in the competition, contributing to a record representation of women in the festival. Additionally, “Mother and Child” by Iranian director Saeed Roustaee, has been selected. Kristen Stewart will make her directorial debut with “The Chronology of Water” showcasing a young girl’s challenging upbringing and her escape into literature. The festival will also honor Pierre Richard, a prominent figure in French cinema, with a screening of his new film, “L’homme qui a vu l’ours qui a vu l’homme” The opening night will feature a special performance by French singer Mylène Farmer.
