Cannes Film Festival 2025: A Star-Studded Jury and Exciting Lineup

The Cannes Film Festival is gearing up for its 78th edition, featuring a distinguished jury headed by Juliette Binoche, who takes over from Greta Gerwig. The jury comprises notable figures from various backgrounds, including Halle Berry, the first African-American woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress, Jeremy Strong, known for his role in “The Apprentice,” and Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, whose film “All We Imagine as Light” won the Grand Prize at Cannes last year. Other jury members include prominent South Korean director Hong Sangsoo, Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, French-Moroccan author Leïla Slimani, Congolese director Dieudo Hamadi, and Mexican filmmaker Carlos Reygadas, a fixture at the festival.
The festival will showcase a robust lineup of films, featuring Hollywood productions such as Lynne Ramsay’s “Die, My Love” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart’s “The Chronology of Water” in the Un Certain Regard section, and other anticipated titles including Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest” with Denzel Washington and Ari Aster’s “Eddington” featuring a star-studded cast, including Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone. The winners of the competition will be revealed on May 24 during the closing ceremony, with the festival running from May 13 to 24.
