The coastal phenomenon prompted authorities to issue a pre-alert for hazardous sea conditions, with waves reaching up to four meters. Key incidents included six French tourists being swept away at Roque de Las Bodegas beach after ignoring safety warnings, resulting in multiple injuries and hospitalizations. The most severe situation occurred at Puerto de la Cruz, where ten people were swept into the water; despite rescue efforts, one woman died, and several others suffered critical injuries. Additionally, a man was found dead after falling into the sea near Charco del Viento. Authorities emphasized the importance of heeding safety warnings and expressed concern over the adverse weather conditions that have highlighted the need for caution in coastal areas.
