The Los Angeles wildfires have profoundly impacted the entertainment industry, with A-listers like Anthony Hopkins and Mandy Moore losing their homes. Major award shows have faced schedule changes: the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards shifted from Jan. 12 to an unconfirmed date in February, while the Oscars saw the nominations voting deadline extended from Jan. 12 to Jan. 17 and the announcement pushed to Jan. 23, with the ceremony still set for March 2 at Dolby Theatre. The 2025 SAG Awards canceled their in-person nominations presentation and will hold the ceremony on Feb. 23. Additionally, the Grammy Awards on Feb. 2 will focus on raising funds for wildfire relief. Concerts have been similarly affected, with The Weeknd canceling his Jan. 25 event and delaying his album release, alongside other canceled music events. Numerous premieres for films and TV shows, such as “Severance” Season 2 and several movies, have also been called off, along with the indefinite postponement of the Mammoth Film Festival. TV productions, including “Jeopardy!” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” remain on pause, while shows like “Abbott Elementary” have resumed filming. Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” has had its release delayed from Jan. 15 to March 4.
